Nicolás Garrido
Nicolás Garrido is a Peruvian photographer based in Lima. His practice moves between documentary and conceptual photography, exploring cultural memory, territory and material processes, with a particular interest in forms of knowledge embedded in everyday practices and traditions.
Working primarily with analog photography, he approaches the image as both document and physical object. His project Alquimia Textil, developed with María Lucía Muñoz, received the 2025 Sony World Photography Award in the Environment category and was subsequently presented as part of the Sony World Photography Awards international touring exhibition, including at Somerset House in London and Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini in Milan. His work has been featured in the British Journal of Photography and PhotoVogue. In 2026, he was selected to participate in the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIX.
